Aachen is a quintessential slab-serif typeface originally designed by Colin Brignall in 1969 for Letraset. Later expanded by Alan Meeks, the family grew to include lighter weights like the Aachen-Light Regular. This specific weight retains the iconic geometric slab structure of the original but offers a more sophisticated and breathable aesthetic compared to the heavier, more industrial versions commonly seen in 20th-century media.

The Light Regular weight of Aachen is characterized by its short ascenders and descenders and its sturdy, rectangular serifs.
