AdobeJensonDisplay Roman

Adobe Jenson Display Roman is a faithful digital revival of the 15th-century typeface cut by Nicolas Jenson in Venice. Developed by Robert Slimbach for the Adobe Originals program in 1996, this typeface captures the organic and calligraphic nature of Renaissance printing while providing the precision required for modern high-resolution displays. The Display variant specifically features refined strokes and sharper serifs optimized for large-scale use, maintaining the warmth and humanist character of its historical predecessor.

This typeface is categorized as a Venetian Serif, distinguished by its tilted crossbar on the lowercase 'e' and its heavy bracketed serifs. Adobe Jenson has long been a favorite among typographers for its combination of historical authenticity and functional elegance. It serves as a bridge between the handwritten manuscripts of the middle ages and the industrial efficiency of the printing press, making it an essential tool for sophisticated design projects.
