AnzeigenGroT Regular

AnzeigenGroT Regular, also known as Anzeigen-Grotesk, is a seminal sans-serif typeface originally produced by the renowned Haas Type Foundry. Designed during the mid-20th century, it was crafted to serve the burgeoning advertising industry which demanded heavy, attention-grabbing letterforms that could fit into narrow column widths. Its structure reflects the Swiss design tradition, prioritizing clarity, impact, and a certain industrial rigidity that remains timeless.

The typeface is characterized by its narrow proportions, high x-height, and minimal stroke contrast. These features allow for tight kerning and dense blocks of text that command authority on the page. Today, it is frequently used by designers seeking a vintage yet modern aesthetic for editorial projects, large-scale posters, and digital displays where bold communication is essential.
