Apple Garamond Bold Italic

Apple Garamond is a customized, condensed version of the ITC Garamond typeface, which served as the cornerstone of Apple Computer's corporate identity from 1984 until 2002. This typeface was commissioned specifically to replace Motter Tektura and was engineered to be narrower than standard Garamond variants to better suit the constraints of computer screen displays and marketing brochures of the era. Its tall x-height and classic serif structures provide a distinctively sophisticated yet readable appearance.

The Bold Italic weight adds a sense of urgency and authoritative style to the family, maintaining the calligraphic elegance found in the original designs of Claude Garamond while adopting the modernized proportions of the ITC family. It is most famously associated with the 'Think Different' marketing campaign, making it an iconic piece of typographic history for designers who value both retro technology aesthetics and timeless serif craftsmanship.
