Apple Garamond Light is a specialized, condensed version of the classic ITC Garamond typeface, which served as Apple Computer's corporate identity font from 1984 until 2002. This elegant serif was a cornerstone of Apple's minimalist aesthetic, appearing prominently in the iconic 'Think Different' campaign and various product manuals. The font is characterized by its exceptionally large x-height and narrow proportions, which were designed to provide a sophisticated yet space-efficient look for print media.

While the typeface is rooted in the 16th-century designs of Claude Garamond, this specific iteration was adapted by Bitstream to meet the modern branding needs of the tech industry. It offers a unique blend of historical literary elegance and early computing nostalgia. Even though Apple eventually transitioned to sans-serif fonts like Myriad and San Francisco, Apple Garamond Light remains a highly sought-after face for designers looking to capture a vintage high-tech or classic scholarly atmosphere.
