Bahij Muna Bold

Bahij Muna Bold is a sophisticated evolution of the classic Muna typeface, originally developed to address the specific needs of modern newspaper headline design and bilingual editorial environments. Developed by the Bahij Type Foundry, this variant builds upon the foundation of traditional Naskh calligraphy while integrating contemporary typographic standards. It was engineered to bridge the gap between historical Arabic script aesthetics and the mechanical requirements of modern digital publishing, ensuring that the typeface remains culturally authentic yet functionally versatile across global platforms.

The Bold weight of Bahij Muna is characterized by its robust letterforms and an exceptionally well-balanced x-height that harmonizes perfectly with the Arabic character heights. The Latin components feature clean, sans-serif strokes that mirror the optical weight of the Arabic Naskh, preventing the visual 'shimmer' often found in poorly matched bilingual fonts. Its counters are open and the terminals are subtly rounded, which enhances legibility at large display sizes and maintains structural clarity even in challenging print conditions. The heavy stroke weight provides a commanding presence without sacrificing the fluid, calligraphic flow essential to Arabic legibility.
