Blacker Display Heavy Italic is a distinguished member of the Blacker family, a wedge serif typeface designed by Francesco Canovaro for Zetafonts in 2017. Inspired by the "evil serif" subgenre of the 1970s, this font was created to push the limits of contrast and sharp geometry. It features aggressive, triangular serifs and a high-contrast stroke weight that makes it a powerhouse for display typography.
The Heavy Italic variant adds a sophisticated, dynamic movement to the family's brutalist elegance. Its sharp angles and refined curves are specifically optimized for large-scale applications, such as magazine headlines and luxury branding. By blending vintage editorial vibes with contemporary digital precision, it has become a favorite among designers looking for a bold, authoritative voice.
