Bodoni Moda 9pt ExtraBold Italic

Bodoni Moda is a modern interpretation of the classic serif typefaces designed by Giambattista Bodoni in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Known for its extreme contrast between thick and thin strokes and its vertical axis, this specific variant, the 9pt ExtraBold Italic, is optimized for smaller optical sizes while maintaining a high level of sophistication and visual impact. The project aims to bring the elegance of Didone typography into the digital age with full support for variable font technology.

This typeface was developed as an open-source project to provide designers with a versatile tool that scales across different resolutions and print sizes. The 9pt optical sizing ensures that the delicate hairlines and sharp serifs remain legible even when used in more constrained spaces, making the ExtraBold Italic weight particularly effective for emphasis in high-end editorial layouts and luxury branding materials.
