Bodoni Moda 9pt ExtraBold Regular

Bodoni Moda 9pt ExtraBold Regular is a contemporary digital revival of the iconic Didone typeface originally created by Giambattista Bodoni in the late 18th century. Developed by Owen Earl of indestructible type*, this version is part of a variable font family that utilizes optical sizing to ensure the typeface maintains its integrity across different scales. The 9pt designation signifies that the font is mathematically optimized for smaller displays or body text, though the ExtraBold weight makes it an exceptionally powerful choice for high-impact visual communication.

Characteristic of the Modern serif style, this typeface features an extreme contrast between thick vertical strokes and thin horizontal hairlines. This creates a rhythmic, elegant appearance that has long been associated with luxury, fashion, and high-end editorial design. The Moda project serves as a bridge between the historical craftsmanship of Italian typography and the technical requirements of modern digital screens, offering designers a sophisticated tool that is both historically grounded and technically advanced.
