Brighton Regular is a refined serif typeface designed by Alan Meeks in 1978 for the Letraset library. Characterized by its warm and approachable personality, the font features unique, soft rounded serifs and a high x-height that significantly enhances its legibility. This combination of traditional structure and gentle detailing gives it a distinctive humanist quality that stands out in both display and text applications.
The typeface is highly versatile, bridging the gap between classic editorial aesthetics and contemporary design needs. Its balanced weight and subtle curves make it an excellent choice for long-form reading, as it reduces eye strain while maintaining a sophisticated appearance. Over the decades, Brighton Regular has remained a staple for designers looking to convey a sense of reliability, warmth, and timeless elegance in their creative projects.
