Compagnon Bold Regular

Compagnon Bold Regular is a distinctive part of the Compagnon typeface family, a collaborative project released through the Velvetyne Type Foundry. The family was inspired by the rich history of typewriter specimens, with each weight based on a different historical model. Specifically, the Bold weight is an interpretation of the Hermes 3000 typewriter, known for its robust and slightly rounded mechanical strike that offers a perfect balance between industrial utility and classic charm.

As an open-source project, Compagnon serves as an homage to the evolution of writing machines and office documentation. It features characteristic slab serifs and a monospaced-influenced structure that gives it a rhythmic, typewriter-like texture. This makes it an exceptional choice for designers seeking to evoke a sense of nostalgia, authenticity, or a "handmade" mechanical aesthetic in digital and print mediums.
