Compagnon Medium Regular

Compagnon Medium Regular is a distinctive typeface family inspired by the rich historical evolution of typewriter specimens. Developed as a collaborative project at the Velvetyne Type Foundry, the family consists of several weights, each referencing a different chronological era of mechanical writing. The Medium weight specifically captures the sturdy, industrial essence of early 20th-century office machines, blending a nostalgic mechanical feel with modern digital precision.

The design features wide apertures and characteristic typewriter serifs that provide a rhythmic and tactile reading experience. Compagnon is highly valued in the design community for its ability to convey authenticity and a human touch. Whether used for long-form text or experimental display settings, it maintains a unique balance between historical archival aesthetics and contemporary graphic design trends.
