Copperplate CC Bold

Copperplate CC Bold is rooted in the classic Copperplate Gothic family, originally designed by Frederic W. Goudy in 1901 for the American Type Founders (ATF). Despite being categorized as a 'Gothic' (sans-serif) typeface, it features subtle, sharp serifs that were intended to mimic the appearance of copperplate engraving used in social printing and stationery. This specific bold weight emphasizes the strong, square proportions and the authoritative presence that has made the font a staple of professional communication for over a century.

The typeface is unique because it consists primarily of small capitals, lacking a traditional lowercase set. This design choice makes it exceptionally well-suited for headers, titles, and formal branding where a sense of permanence and reliability is needed. Over the decades, Copperplate CC Bold has transitioned from physical metal type to digital media, maintaining its status as a go-to choice for legal firms, luxury brands, and high-end corporate identities looking for a timeless, 'banker' aesthetic.
