Copperplate Std 29 AB Regular

Copperplate Std 29 AB Regular is a classic typeface designed by the prolific Frederic W. Goudy in 1901 for the American Type Founders (ATF). Although classified as a serif, it is often grouped with sans-serifs due to its extremely subtle, tiny terminal flourishes that mimic the look of letters engraved in stone or copper plates. This design heritage gives it a distinctive, formal authority that has remained popular for over a century.

The "29 AB" designation refers to its specific weight and optical sizing within the digital Adobe and Linotype collections. Characterized by its wide horizontal stance and lack of a lowercase set (using small caps instead), this font is synonymous with high-end corporate identity and Victorian-era industrial professionalism. It continues to be a primary choice for institutional branding and prestigious stationery worldwide.
