Copperplate Std 31 BC Regular

Copperplate Std 31 BC Regular is a distinguished typeface originally designed by the prolific Frederic W. Goudy in 1901 for American Type Founders (ATF). Although it is categorized as a sans-serif, it is widely recognized for its tiny, hairline serifs that give the letterforms a unique glyphic appearance. This specific variation, 31 BC, represents a particular weight and width configuration that emphasizes the horizontal expansion and sturdy presence of the font family.

Historically, this font was intended to mimic the look of text engraved in copper or stone, making it a favorite for professional stationery and business documents throughout the 20th century. Because it consists entirely of small capital letters, it excels in titles and headings where a sense of authority and tradition is required. It remains a cornerstone of corporate identity design for institutions that wish to project stability and timeless elegance.
