Cormorant SC Light Regular

Cormorant SC Light Regular is part of the extensive Cormorant family, an open-source display serif typeface project designed by Christian Thalmann of Catharsis Fonts. This particular variant draws its inspiration from the elegant, timeless forms of 16th-century French typefaces, specifically those of Claude Garamond. While traditional Garamond-style fonts are often intended for body text, Cormorant was meticulously engineered to provide a sharper, more refined aesthetic suitable for high-resolution displays and large-scale editorial work.

The SC (Small Caps) variant in the Light weight is characterized by its delicate stroke contrast and sophisticated proportions. Rather than simply using scaled-down uppercase letters, the small caps are uniquely balanced to maintain the visual weight of the regular capitals, ensuring a harmonious and professional look across all typographic hierarchies. This makes the font an exceptional choice for designers seeking a balance between classical tradition and contemporary precision.
