Dementia Regular

Dementia Regular is a quintessential example of the psychological horror aesthetic, featuring heavily distorted letterforms that evoke a sense of unease, decay, and manic energy. The typeface was designed to mimic the look of scratched surfaces or frantic handwriting found in high-tension thriller environments, stripping away conventional typographic polish in favor of raw, emotive grit. Its uneven strokes and weathered appearance make it a staple for designers looking to inject a sense of unpredictability and darkness into their visual narratives.

Historically utilized within the realms of underground music and independent horror cinema, the font has become synonymous with the industrial and gothic genres. The Regular weight maintains a surprising level of legibility despite its eroded edges, ensuring that the thematic mood is communicated without sacrificing communication. It is most effective when used in large-scale applications, such as headlines or display banners, where the intricate details of its distressed texture can be fully appreciated by the audience.
