Domaine Text Italic was designed by Kris Sowersby and released through the Klim Type Foundry in 2013. It is a refined member of the larger Domaine superfamily, which was born from a project to explore the historical lineage of Latin typefaces. While the Display variants focus on high contrast and dramatic elegance, the Text version is meticulously crafted for legibility and endurance in small-scale environments, featuring sturdier serifs and a more robust skeletal structure.

The italic variant is especially distinctive for its fluid, calligraphic influence that elegantly balances sharp terminals with soft, flowing curves.
