Druk Wide Medium Regular

Druk Wide Medium Regular is a key component of the extensive Druk typeface family, designed by Berton Hasebe for Commercial Type. Originally commissioned for Bloomberg Businessweek, the font was created to fill a specific need for typography that could express maximum impact through extreme widths and weights. The Wide variant specifically emphasizes horizontal expansion, pushing the boundaries of traditional sans-serif design to create a powerful, structural aesthetic.

The Medium Regular weight offers a distinctive balance between the family's brutalist origins and functional legibility. It is characterized by its flat terminals and a lack of traditional curves, giving the letterforms a rigid, architectural feel. This typeface has become an iconic choice in contemporary design, frequently used in high-fashion branding, music industry assets, and avant-garde editorial layouts where a commanding presence is required.
