Formular Black Italic

Formular Black Italic is a powerful and assertive weight within the Formular typeface family, crafted by the renowned designers Gayaneh Bagdasaryan and Vyacheslav Kirilenko for the Brownfox foundry. This typeface serves as a modern homage to the 19th-century grotesque style, characterized by its geometric foundations and rhythmic structural balance. The Black Italic variant specifically offers a high-impact, slanted aesthetic that combines industrial rigidity with a dynamic sense of motion, making it a standout choice for contemporary display typography.

Released in 2014, the Formular family was designed to bridge the gap between classic Swiss design and modern digital requirements. Its open apertures and carefully adjusted proportions ensure that even at its heaviest weight, the font maintains a high degree of legibility and visual clarity. This makes it an exceptionally versatile tool for designers working in editorial, corporate identity, and experimental digital media where a bold, authoritative voice is necessary.
