Formular Bold

Formular Bold is a cornerstone of the Formular type family, designed by the Moscow-based independent foundry Brownfox in 2013. This typeface is a contemporary geometric sans-serif that strikes a unique balance between the rigid traditions of 19th-century Swiss grotesque and modern stylistic eccentricities. The bold weight is specifically engineered to deliver a high-impact visual presence while maintaining the sophisticated neutrality required for professional typographic environments.

The design philosophy behind Formular Bold involves a deliberate departure from strictly mathematical forms, incorporating subtle optical corrections that give the characters a more organic and approachable feel despite their geometric roots. Its wide apertures and robust construction make it exceptionally versatile, performing with clarity in both physical print and high-resolution digital interfaces. It has since become a favored choice for international branding projects and high-end editorial design.
