Formular Medium Medium

Formular Medium is a sophisticated weight within the Formular typeface family, designed by Gayaneh Bagdasaryan and Vyacheslav Kirilenko and released through the Brownfox foundry in 2014. The font is a modern interpretation of the neo-grotesque genre, striking a unique balance between the strict functionalism of Swiss design and the expressive eccentricities found in early 20th-century grotesques. It features a generous x-height and distinctive character shapes that provide a mechanical yet approachable aesthetic, making it highly versatile for various design contexts.

This medium weight is particularly valued for its robust construction and high legibility. While it adheres to a modernist structure, details like the specific curvature of its terminals and its wide proportions give Formular Medium a contemporary edge that stands out in a crowded market of neutral sans-serifs. It is engineered to perform exceptionally well on screen and in print, ensuring that its idiosyncratic personality remains clear even at smaller point sizes.
