Geograph Italic

Geograph Italic is a contemporary geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Kris Sowersby of the Klim Type Foundry. Originally commissioned as a custom typeface for National Geographic, it was built to replace their legacy fonts with a more versatile and modern aesthetic. The italic variant is meticulously crafted to maintain the geometric purity of the upright styles while providing a dynamic slant that enhances readability and emphasis in editorial contexts.

The design philosophy behind Geograph focuses on the balance between mathematical precision and functional utility. It draws inspiration from the history of geometric typefaces like Futura but introduces modern refinements that make it suitable for high-resolution digital displays and complex print layouts. Its clean lines and open apertures make it an exceptional choice for global branding initiatives and sophisticated information design.
