Georgia Pro Black Regular

Georgia Pro Black Regular is an expanded and refined version of the classic Georgia typeface, originally commissioned by Microsoft and designed by the renowned Matthew Carter in 1993. While the original was built specifically for low-resolution screen legibility, the Pro version was developed to offer a more versatile typographic palette, including this heavy, authoritative Black weight. It retains the sturdy, transitional serif characteristics of the original while adding the polish needed for high-end print and digital publishing.

This particular weight, Black Regular, is characterized by its large x-height, open counters, and robust strokes, making it exceptionally clear even in demanding environments. It draws inspiration from 19th-century Scotch Roman designs but is modernized for the digital age. It is frequently selected by designers who need a typeface that conveys heritage and reliability without sacrificing the impact required for contemporary headlines and editorial branding.
