Georgia Pro Bold Italic

Georgia Pro Bold Italic is a sophisticated expansion of the original Georgia typeface, which was famously designed by Matthew Carter for Microsoft in 1996. While the original was crafted specifically for legibility on low-resolution computer screens, the 'Pro' version was developed by Monotype and Steve Matteson to bring the family into the modern era. This specific bold italic variant offers a refined weight and slant that maintains the classic, sturdy essence of the original while adding professional-grade typographic features.

The design of Georgia Pro Bold Italic features a high x-height and open counters, which are characteristic of the family's renowned readability. In this professional iteration, the kerning has been meticulously adjusted and the character set has been expanded to include specialized symbols and ligatures. It serves as a robust alternative to Times New Roman, offering more character and a slightly wider stance that feels authoritative yet approachable in both digital and printed environments.
