Georgia Pro Semibold Italic

Georgia Pro Semibold Italic is an expansion of the iconic Georgia typeface originally commissioned by Microsoft and designed by Matthew Carter in 1993. This professional version was refined by Monotype and Font Bureau to include a comprehensive range of weights and sophisticated typographic features. It retains the signature high x-height and open apertures that made the original Georgia a benchmark for screen legibility, while providing the additional weight and slant necessary for complex document hierarchies.

The Semibold Italic variant strikes a perfect balance between elegance and authority. It is specifically engineered to maintain its distinct character and readability across diverse digital resolutions and high-quality print environments. As a transitional serif font, it bridges the gap between traditional print aesthetics and the demands of modern web design, making it a staple for editorial and corporate communications.
