Gill Sans Nova UltraLight Regular

Gill Sans Nova UltraLight Regular is a sophisticated expansion of the iconic Gill Sans typeface family, originally created by the renowned British artist and type designer Eric Gill in 1928. This specific weight was meticulously refined and introduced as part of the 2015 Gill Sans Nova series by designer George Ryan for Monotype, aiming to bring the classic humanist sans-serif into the digital age with greater versatility and a broader range of weights that the original release lacked.

The UltraLight variant is characterized by its exceptionally thin strokes and elegant, open proportions, making it a favorite for high-end editorial work and minimalist branding. It preserves the unique character of the original typeface—inspired by Edward Johnston’s London Underground lettering—while offering a contemporary lightness that excels in large-scale display applications where a sense of luxury, clarity, and architectural precision is required.
