Good Times Italic is a high-octane, futuristic display typeface created by renowned designer Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts. Originally inspired by the sleek, geometric lettering found on 1980s Pontiac Firebird trans-am logos, the font captures a distinct era of automotive and technological optimism. The italic variant specifically enhances this aesthetic by adding a sense of velocity and forward motion, making it a staple for projects requiring a sense of speed and modern sophistication.
The typeface is characterized by its wide stance, clean lines, and unique cutouts that evoke a stenciled, high-tech appearance. Since its release, Good Times has become one of the most recognizable sci-fi fonts in the world, frequently appearing in video games, movie titles, and professional sports branding. Its ability to remain legible while maintaining a strong, aggressive personality makes it a versatile choice for digital and print media alike.
