GT Super was designed by Noel Leu and released through the Swiss foundry Grilli Type in 2018. The typeface is the result of extensive research into serif designs from the 1970s and 80s, specifically focusing on the expressive and idiosyncratic display faces of that era such as Times Modern and Trooper Roman. It successfully captures the transition from metal type to digital technology.

The Display Light (Ds Lt) weight captures the elegance of high-contrast serifs, blending historical references with a sharp, contemporary digital execution. It bridges the gap between traditional book typography and the bold, assertive style of late-20th-century editorial design, making it a favorite for modern luxury branding and high-end print layouts.
