GT Super Txt Bl Regular

GT Super Txt Bl Regular is a key component of the GT Super family, released by the Swiss foundry Grilli Type in 2018. Designed by Noël Leu with contributions from Reto Moser, the typeface is a contemporary reinterpretation of the expressive serif styles prevalent in the 1970s and 80s. It draws significant inspiration from historical editorial typefaces such as Times Modern and Super-Caliber, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional serif tropes and modern digital requirements. The Txt version is specifically optimized for legibility in body copy, featuring adjusted proportions and contrast compared to its display counterparts.

The Black (Bl) weight provides a dense, authoritative texture that remains surprisingly readable due to its generous x-height and open counters. This font family represents a thorough investigation into the history of serif typography, distilling the best qualities of transitional and display faces into a versatile tool for designers. It has quickly become a favorite in the design community for projects that require a sophisticated, intellectual, yet slightly nostalgic aesthetic that feels entirely at home in a high-end digital or print environment.
