Guggenheim Sans Regular

Guggenheim Sans Regular is a bespoke typeface commissioned by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum to establish a cohesive and sophisticated visual identity. Designed by the prestigious foundry Hoefler & Co., the typeface is heavily influenced by the geometric lettering found in Frank Lloyd Wright’s original architectural sketches for the museum. It serves as a bridge between mid-century modernism and contemporary digital requirements, offering a clean, authoritative, yet approachable aesthetic.

The font is characterized by its geometric foundations and balanced proportions, making it highly versatile for both display and text use. While it shares some DNA with classic geometric sans-serifs, its unique terminals and specific kerning reflect the museum’s artistic heritage. Today, it remains a cornerstone of the Guggenheim’s global branding, used extensively in exhibitions, signage, and digital platforms to maintain a consistent and elegant voice.
