Hanken Grotesk Black

Hanken Grotesk Black is a heavy-weight sans-serif typeface designed by Alfredo Marco Pradil for the Hanken Design Co. It is inspired by the classic grotesque typefaces of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, aiming to provide a functional and versatile typeface that bridges the gap between geometric structure and humanist influences. The Black weight specifically provides a powerful, impactful presence that is ideal for high-visibility applications where authority and modernity are required.

Initially released as an open-source project, Hanken Grotesk has gained significant popularity in the design community due to its clean lines and exceptional legibility across both digital and print platforms. The font features a high x-height and refined character details, making it a reliable choice for contemporary branding. Its robust structure ensures that the typeface remains readable even in demanding environments, solidifying its place as a staple in modern UI/UX and editorial design.
