Hanken Grotesk Medium

Hanken Grotesk Medium is a sophisticated sans-serif typeface designed by Alfredo Marco Pradil of the Hanken Design Co. It is inspired by the classic grotesque typefaces of the late 19th century but has been thoroughly modernized for contemporary use. The Medium weight is particularly valued for its optical balance, providing enough presence to be used in headings while remaining legible enough for substantial blocks of text.

The typeface features a high x-height, open counters, and a geometric structure that ensures superior readability across digital platforms and print media. Since its release as an open-source project, it has gained significant popularity among designers for its versatility, often serving as a cleaner, more modern alternative to traditional grotesques like Akzidenz-Grotesk or early Swiss style fonts.
