Hikatta Regular

Hikatta Regular emerged from the contemporary digital type design movement, drawing inspiration from high-contrast Japanese minimalist aesthetics combined with modern Latin sans-serif structures. Developed to bridge the gap between editorial sophistication and digital readability, it was released to provide designers with a typeface that feels both organic and surgically precise in its construction.

Technically, Hikatta Regular features a generous x-height that enhances legibility at smaller scales, while its stroke modulation maintains a delicate balance between thick and thin terminals. The letterforms exhibit a distinct geometric skeleton but are softened by subtle optical corrections in the bowls and joints. This visual weight is perfectly calibrated for medium-density layouts, offering a rhythmic flow that prevents eye fatigue during extended reading sessions while maintaining a sharp, professional character.
