HumboldtFraktur Regular

Humboldt-Fraktur was designed by Hiero Rhode in 1938 for the D. Stempel AG foundry in Frankfurt. It represents a refined and slightly modernized version of the traditional German Fraktur style, characterized by its sharp terminals and distinct verticality. Named after the polymath Alexander von Humboldt, the font captures the essence of early 20th-century German typographic identity, blending historical calligraphic roots with the industrial precision of the era.

This typeface is distinguished by its high contrast and decorative capitals, which provide a sense of historical authority and academic elegance. In the digital age, it has been revived to serve as a bridge between medieval blackletter scripts and contemporary design needs. It is frequently sought after for projects that require a vintage, gothic, or scholarly aesthetic, maintaining legibility while offering a rich, textured appearance on the page.
