iCiel Gotham Ultra Regular

iCiel Gotham Ultra Regular is a localized adaptation of the world-renowned Gotham typeface, originally commissioned for GQ magazine and designed by Tobias Frere-Jones in 2000. Inspired by the architectural signage of mid-20th century New York City, particularly the lettering found on the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the font captures a uniquely American aesthetic that is both industrial and sophisticated. The iCiel version brings this modern classic to the Vietnamese design community by meticulously adding standard Vietnamese diacritics while preserving the geometric integrity of the characters.

As an Ultra weight, this font is specifically engineered for high-impact communication where presence and authority are required. It features wide apertures and a high x-height, ensuring that its massive weight does not compromise its inherent legibility. It has become a staple for professional graphic designers working in political campaigning, high-end editorial layout, and corporate branding, offering a clean yet powerful voice that stands out in both print and digital environments.
