ITC Benguiat Std Book Regular

ITC Benguiat was designed by the legendary typographer Edward Benguiat and released by the International Typeface Corporation in 1977. This typeface is a quintessential example of the Art Nouveau revival style, featuring high x-heights, dramatic serifs, and flowing, organic curves. Its design was intended to offer a unique decorative flair that departed from the rigid geometry of many mid-century modern fonts, providing designers with a sophisticated yet playful serif option.

Throughout the 1980s, ITC Benguiat achieved massive popularity and became synonymous with the era's aesthetic. It is most famously recognized for its use on the covers of Stephen King novels and, more recently, for its prominent role in the title sequence of the Netflix series Stranger Things. The 'Book' weight specifically balances the font's decorative eccentricities with a level of legibility that makes it suitable for both display headlines and shorter passages of text.
