ITC Eras Bold

ITC Eras Bold is a distinguished member of the ITC Eras family, designed in 1976 by French designers Albert Boton and Albert Hollenstein. This typeface is categorized as a humanist sans-serif, notable for its unique 3-degree forward slant across all weights, which gives it a sense of dynamic motion and modern energy. Its construction features highly open counters and varied stroke thicknesses, blending geometric precision with calligraphic influences to create a font that is both legible and visually striking.

The Bold weight of the family is particularly celebrated for its high visibility and authoritative presence. Throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, it became a staple in corporate branding and advertising due to its friendly yet professional demeanor. Its distinct letterforms, such as the open-loop 'a' and the curved 'W', ensure that ITC Eras Bold remains a recognizable classic for display typography and editorial design in the contemporary digital era.
