Jones* Bold Italic

Jones* Bold Italic is a sophisticated revival of the classic humanist sans-serif designed by Edward Johnston for the London Underground. This specific cut, crafted by Tyler Finck and released via The League of Moveable Type, preserves the geometric purity and unique calligraphic influence of the original early 20th-century masterpiece. The Bold Italic variant adds a layer of urgency and dynamic movement, making it stand out in complex typographic hierarchies while maintaining the timeless authority of its predecessor.

Functionally, Jones* is built for clarity and impact. It features the signature diamond-shaped tittles and the distinctively wide proportions that made the Johnston typeface a landmark in British design history. As an open-source project, it provides designers with a versatile, high-quality tool for projects that require a balance between institutional reliability and modern accessibility, ensuring that the legacy of one of the world's most famous fonts lives on in the digital age.
