Layla Regular

Layla Regular is part of the esteemed Boutros typeface collection, a series developed by Arlette and Mourad Boutros to facilitate seamless visual communication between Arabic and Latin scripts. Its origin lies in the need for a contemporary, professional font family that could bridge the gap between cultural aesthetic traditions while maintaining a unified corporate identity. The font has become a staple for international organizations operating in the Middle East, praised for its neutral yet sophisticated approach to bilingual typography.

From a technical standpoint, Layla Regular exhibits a robust x-height and open apertures that significantly enhance legibility in low-resolution digital environments. The stroke weight is meticulously balanced, avoiding the pitfalls of overly thin junctions that often fail in print. Its letterforms lean towards a geometric construction but are softened by subtle calligraphic influence in the terminal treatments, providing a rhythm that is both mechanical and organic. This careful modulation ensures that the font remains readable in long-form body text while possessing enough character for high-impact display use.
