Love Letters Regular

Love Letters Regular emerged during the peak of the modern calligraphy movement, designed to bridge the gap between traditional copperplate scripts and contemporary informal lettering. Developed by Corgi Graphics, this typeface was crafted to replicate the organic spontaneity of a pointed-pen nib on textured paper. Its history is rooted in the rise of social media-driven aesthetics, where the demand for personalized, artisanal typography led to the creation of fonts that feature rhythmic baselines and authentic-looking ligatures.

From a technical standpoint, Love Letters Regular exhibits a sophisticated visual weight characterized by a high contrast between its delicate upstrokes and substantial downstrokes. The x-height is notably generous for a script face, which prevents the intricate loops from becoming muddy in digital environments. The letterforms are structured with a moderate slant that conveys energy and motion, while the generous spacing between characters ensures that the sweeping ascenders and descenders do not conflict. This careful balance of negative space and fluid connections results in a typeface that maintains high legibility across both display and sub-header applications.
