Martina Plantijn Medium Italic

Martina Plantijn Medium Italic is a sophisticated serif typeface designed by Kris Sowersby of the Klim Type Foundry. It is a historical revival that draws deep inspiration from the 16th-century types of Christophe Plantin and the exquisite craftsmanship of Robert Granjon. This specific weight and style capture the rhythmic flow and sharp clarity of classic old-style italics, offering a bridge between the physical heritage of lead type and the high-performance requirements of modern digital screens.

The design of Martina Plantijn is characterized by its sturdy proportions and a robust structure that ensures exceptional legibility even in dense text environments. Unlike many historical revivals that feel fragile, this typeface is engineered for high-impact editorial design and complex book typography. The Medium Italic weight provides just enough emphasis to stand out in body text without disrupting the overall tonal harmony of the page.
