Media Sans Extended Bold Italic

Media Sans Extended Bold Italic is a commanding display typeface designed by Jean-Baptiste Levée and published through Production Type. Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of the mid-20th-century French press, this font captures the raw energy and tight-fitting composition typical of 1960s news headlines. The Extended width provides a massive horizontal footprint, allowing for powerful typographic expressions that dominate the visual plane.

This specific weight, the Bold Italic, adds a layer of aggressive momentum and urgency to the typeface's structure. Characterized by its high contrast, large x-height, and nearly non-existent tracking, it is engineered for maximum impact in editorial environments. It bridges the gap between vintage journalistic grit and contemporary digital sophistication, making it a favorite for designers who need their text to speak with authority and speed.
