Metric Bold Italic

Metric Bold Italic is a refined geometric sans-serif typeface designed by the renowned typographer Kris Sowersby and released through the Klim Type Foundry in 2011. The typeface finds its roots in the rationalized geometry of street signs found in Berlin, effectively bridging the gap between mechanical construction and humanist proportions. This specific weight, Bold Italic, introduces a dynamic sense of motion and emphasis while preserving the clarity and structural integrity of the original Metric family.

The design philosophy behind Metric involves a unique approach to geometric forms, avoiding the sterility of purely mathematical shapes through subtle optical corrections. This makes the Bold Italic variant particularly effective for high-impact branding, editorial headers, and complex information design. Its versatility allows it to function seamlessly across both digital interfaces and high-resolution print applications, often cited as a more contemporary alternative to classic neo-grotesques.
