Metric Light Regular

Metric Light Regular is a geometric humanist typeface designed by the renowned New Zealand-based type designer Kris Sowersby and released through the Klim Type Foundry in 2011. The typeface was conceived as a structural twin to the font family Calibre, sharing the same underlying geometry but expressed through different stylistic choices. Metric is notably inspired by the 'engineered' geometry found in street signage and industrial lettering, providing a bridge between mechanical precision and humanistic proportions.

This specific weight, Light Regular, provides an airy and elegant appearance that maintains high legibility even in dense layouts. Its design features a large x-height and open counters, which make it exceptionally functional for both print and digital environments. Metric's versatility allows it to function as a workhorse typeface, suitable for everything from intricate editorial design to bold, modern branding projects where clarity and a contemporary feel are paramount.
