Metropolis Black

Metropolis Black is a modern, geometric sans-serif typeface that draws heavy inspiration from classic, high-end geometric fonts like Gotham and Proxima Nova. Designed by Chris Simpson, the Metropolis project was born out of a desire to create a clean, minimalist, and highly readable typeface that is fully open-source. The Black weight is particularly distinctive for its robust thickness and precise geometry, offering a sophisticated and professional look for contemporary projects.

The Metropolis Black font weight is engineered for maximum impact, making it a favorite for designers working on digital interfaces, mobile apps, and print advertising. Because it is released under the SIL Open Font License, it has become a widely adopted standard for developers and graphic designers who need a premium-quality aesthetic without the high cost of commercial licensing, ensuring consistent performance across both web and desktop environments.
