Metropolis Italic

Metropolis Italic is a modern, geometric sans-serif typeface designed with a focus on geometric purity and readability. Influenced by iconic typefaces like Gotham and Proxima Nova, it was created to provide a high-quality, open-source alternative for designers seeking a clean and balanced aesthetic. The italic version maintains the same optical weights and structural integrity as the upright styles, offering a dynamic slant that enhances emphasis while retaining a minimalist feel.

This typeface has become a staple in modern digital design due to its generous x-height and open apertures, which ensure legibility even at smaller sizes. Whether used for sleek web interfaces or bold print advertising, Metropolis Italic provides a versatile solution for creatives. Its development was driven by the need for a geometric font that performs exceptionally well across various screen resolutions and print media without the licensing costs of premium commercial alternatives.
