Metropolis Thin Italic

Metropolis Thin Italic is an open-source typeface designed by Chris Simpson, inspired by the geometric sans-serif styles of the early 20th century. It was specifically crafted to offer high readability at small sizes while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic for large displays. The design is heavily influenced by iconic fonts like Futura and Gotham, aiming to provide a versatile and robust font family for the creative community.

The Thin Italic weight of the Metropolis family is particularly striking for its delicate, slanted letterforms that convey a sense of elegance and forward motion. Because it is released under the SIL Open Font License, it has become a staple for web designers and developers looking for a high-quality, professional alternative to premium geometric typefaces without licensing restrictions.
