MorrisSansW04-Heavy Regular

Morris Sans W04-Heavy Regular is a contemporary revival and expansion of the classic Bank Gothic typeface, originally designed by the legendary Morris Fuller Benton in 1930. This specific W04 version, released through Monotype, refines the geometric sans-serif aesthetic by emphasizing its square proportions and technical precision. The Heavy weight is particularly notable for its robust, industrial presence, offering a balanced blend of rectilinear forms and subtle corner rounding that gives it a modern, clean-cut appearance.

Historically, this typeface has been a staple in architectural and corporate design due to its stability and legibility. The Morris Sans family extends the original design into a more versatile digital tool, providing a wider range of weights and true lowercase characters which were absent in the original all-caps Bank Gothic. It remains a top choice for designers looking to convey a sense of strength, technological advancement, and mid-century modernism in high-visibility environments.
