Neue Plak Condensed Black

Neue Plak Condensed Black is a contemporary revival and massive expansion of the original Plak typeface designed by Paul Renner in 1928. While Renner is most famous for Futura, Plak was his contribution to the world of display wood type, specifically intended for posters and large-scale advertising. The Monotype Studio team meticulously revisited the original designs to create a versatile, modern family that retains the soul of the 20th-century German grotesque style.

The Condensed Black weight specifically offers a powerful, high-impact presence that is both authoritative and space-efficient. Its narrow proportions and extremely thick strokes make it a favorite for editorial designers looking to create commanding headlines. This digital iteration features refined proportions and an expanded character set, ensuring it functions seamlessly across both high-resolution print and modern digital interfaces.
